More Ryder Brothers eBook JD Hawkins

They say that "Less is More". Not so with Jonas Ryder in this final book in the Ryder Brothers series, that has seen three separate authors pen these rock star former boy band siblings.

JD Hawkins has taken perhaps the most complicated brother in Jonas; who's living in a hedonistic, self-induced exile from the spotlight, and unravelled his dark and broody walls superbly with the help of his vivacious heroine, the life-skilled Hadley.
Hawkins establishes the chemistry with these two early - you don't get any earlier than the very first page!
But it's evident there is more than an animal attraction here. There's a more subtle meeting of minds and of needs, and it's reciprocal, but neither is yet willing to acknowledge it early on in this tale.

When Jonas engages Hadley in a professional capacity as his Life Coach, the lines between professionalism and magnetism get well and truly blurred, crossed and obliterated in the steamiest of ways.

I loved this take on the effects of fame and the ruthless way the entertainment industry launches and then dulls it's shining stars. All that glitters is not gold and this story shows the very ugly and damaging side to infamy.

This is the perfect end to this series, and is JD Hawkins at his usual best! 5 shiny stars!

More Ryder Brothers eBook JD Hawkins Reviews

This might come as a shock to those of you that follow my blog since I read such a large variety of authors, but I have never read J.D. Hawkins. More was my introduction to his work and I can say I was in no way disappointed. This is the third and final book in the Ryder Brother’s series. The previous two books were Close by Laurelin Paige and Want by Kayti McGee. More is fun, sexy, sweet and entertaining. Jonas Ryder is the oldest and known as the elusive Ryder brother. And while his two younger brothers have maintained their careers in the music industry, Jonas chose to walk away from his own. Now, the former boyband star has been asked by his best friend to preform for the first time since he stepped away and Jonas isn’t sure that’s even possible. Hadley is a life coach and a one-night stand that Jonas can’t stop thinking about. When the one-time fling turns into a second fling, Jonas turns to Hadley to help him get beyond his hang-ups. Though Jonas makes it a rule never to return for repeats something about Hadley keeps him coming back. And while Jonas has all the right moves in the bedroom, Hadley may have bitten off more than she can chew.
More is a full-length standalone that can be read on its own. It’s written in dual perspectives, so readers will enjoy getting to know both characters and the fast pace will keep them entertained. This NA romance shows readers a different side to Jonas then they’ve encountered in the previous books. I loved the emotions and vulnerability that J.D. Hawkins pulled out of him. I am definitely looking forward to reading more of his work in the future. I would rate more at 4.5 stars and would recommend this book.
To the public and to his fans, Jonas Ryder has the life most people dream of…so why has he lost his passion for music? Why has he become a recluse? And, more importantly, why does he run from anything that resembles a commitment?

Since meeting the Ryder brothers, Jonas has always been the one I could never figure out; he seemed so closed off and jaded, and I wanted to understand what made him that way, what made him leave music behind, what made him feel like more was not something he wanted in his life, whether it be more than one-night with a woman, more gigs with his brothers, or more notoriety. These aspects of ‘more’ were not something he would consider even if Jonas’ friend said it best, ‘There’s always more to it, Jonas. You’re just good at ignoring the rest.”

Hadley Stark thought she knew what she was getting herself into when she hooked up with Jonas ‘One-Time’ Ryder, but somewhere along the way, perhaps when she became more than a one night stand or when she began to help him work on his inability to play music, she found herself wanting more with Jonas and for Jonas, complicating an already complex personal and professional relationship and forcing them both to contemplate if they can give each other what they want and more importantly what they need.

While it took me a bit to warm up to Jonas, I love how J.D. Hawkins approached Jonas’ issues and the way he forced Jonas to reflect on the truths and insights that his friends and his brothers finally laid out for him. Jonas is not the typical rockstar and I loved that about him, and even though he seems like a superficial person based on how he has chosen to live his life, when Jonas finally looks inward and finally faces what he has refused to see, that awareness allows him to move forward and to finally hope for more.

I absolutely adored Hadley; she gives so much of herself to her clients and to her friends, helping them to become the best version of themselves. I enjoyed reading about her letting loose a bit while also taking a few steps back when it becomes clear that her version of ‘more’ doesn’t match up with the guy who owns her even more than she realizes.

The whole concept of the Ryder Brothers’ series intrigued me. I didn’t know how it would work with three different authors each writing a book about one of the brothers, but they did so seamlessly and the fact that all three brothers were in each book moving, the plot of the individual books as well as the storyline of the entire series forward intertwining Close, Want, and More in ways that I never would have imagined but that I loved nonetheless.
