The author was kind enough to send me an Ecopy of her book in exchange for an honest review! I absolutely loved this book; I had a goofy grin throughout the whole thing.

Our main character Lydia has been in love with her childhood friend Craig, but he has a girlfriend; Scott is in love with Cath and she doesn't seem to be interested. One night Lydia decides to go out to club with her roommates and is there where she bumps into Scott who turns out to be in one of her classes. When she bumps into Craig and Molly she fibs and tells them there is more than friendship between her and Scott. When Scott sees that Lydia and himself are in similar situations he proposes they have a fling to try and get over Cath and Craig.

I adored this book! I felt that both Scott and Lydia's situation was very relatable; who hasn't been in love at one point in their lives, knowing the other person doesn't share the same feelings. I loved the author's writing style it just kept me turning pages; I also really liked the character development both Lydia's and Scotts. I just want to take a moment to ask the author, where I can find myself a Scott?! He was absolutely perfect so swoon worthy! I would love to read more books about Lydia and Scott in the future. I also really enjoyed how the author wove in a game similar to Dungeons and Dragons it made the book so different from other contemporaries and even more enjoyable. The unexpected twist she hit me with really took me by surprise,I didn't see it coming. Overall I loved, loved this book! Everyone needs to pick it up is such a fast, fluffy read that everyone will enjoy. There is a book before this one, but is a companion and does not have to be read before this one.

One Fling to Rule Them All has got to be the most entertaining, funny, and nerdy book I've ever read. It was awesome, simply awesome! And I just know a lot of readers would absolutely love this book as much as I did.

Lydia's been in love with her best friend Craig since forever. Unfortunately he has a girlfriend and doesn't feel the same way. Then Lydia meets Scott and finds out he's exactly in the same situation as her, trying to get over a girl named Cathy. When he proposes a fling to try to get over their feelings for Craig and Cathy, Lydia agrees and sparks start flying.

So I really liked how both Lydia and Scott started out having feelings for other people and tried having a fling together to forget about them. It may started out rather awkwardly but it wasn't long before they really had a great dynamic and chemistry between them.

Really, this book was just loads of fun. I laughed my ass off reading Lydia's inner thoughts (really she's a riot!). And Scott was just super cute, although there was a moment where I thought, no bad Scott, what are you doing?! But anyway I enjoyed One Fling to Rule Them All so so so much!

And last but not least another thing I loved were of course all the pop culture references. I'm talking about Lord of the Rings (obviously!), Harry Potter, Pocahontas, Star Wars and so on. And it all really spoke to my inner nerd. It was all kinds of awesome!
One Fling to Rule Them All is another winner from Deanna Dee. A continuation of The Games of Love series, this book can be read as a standalone, but makes more sense when read after the second book.

One thing that I really enjoy about this series is the lack of sex. Yes, it's mentioned in them, but there isn't any actual sex happening. Now, I have no issues with books that have sex in them (some of my favorites happen to have lots of sex), so that's not why I'm praising these books. I am giving kudos, though, because they focus on the other sides of relationships (read emotional, things the couple have in common, and things that happen outside of the bedroom) that haven't been getting a lot of attention lately.

Another thing that I love about this series is that these scenarios are so realistic. The first book dealt with realizing that not every person is the same. This book focuses on unrequited love. Both books have a common theme of communication. So much drama would be avoided if people just communicated with one another instead of expecting the other person to be a mind reader.

The only compliant that I have would be that I wish we had some minor story line in this book like in the previous book (Craig and his sister) to balance out the romance. I felt like Lydia dealing with her headaches could have been the secondary story line, but they weren't explained or explored (which was kind of disappointing).

One Fling To Rule Them All, written by Deanna Dee, is a type of story I typically don’t read. Romance is generally not my thing, though I like to read a variety of well written stories, of which this certainly was one.

As you will see in the Dedication, JRR Tolkien is greatly admired by the author, and the themes of Dungeons and Dragons games, mixed with Tolkien fantasy, are pervasive throughout the book. It’s about Lydia, who grew up loving a boy and then falling apart once he “comes of age”, and chooses another. Then to add flavor to the story, another guy comes along, and then the emotions and drama flow.

This book is filled with humor, and besides some language throughout, it is a clean read. Lydia is well-developed as a character, and the plot flows along nicely. It seemed so real that I thought certain scenes might have been from real life experiences—that’s how well-developed it was. The relationships between Lydia and her BFFs were strong, and she wanted to please them while trying to hide the pain she was going through.

I found myself enjoying this read and cheering for the main character. It is a book with a good and satisfying ending, and I recommend it for romance readers who don’t mind romps of fantasy through Tolkien-Land.
