This recipe sounds terrific, and it's on my to-try list. It makes just a few truffles (I forget if it's 6 or 8), and it seems to me that the recipe is suitable for use in both US and UK (but I'm NO expert on UK cooking). I did find myself wishing for a standard recipe along with the photo one, and there was a bit of confusion when graham crackers were switched to being called "cookies." This is a cookbook for the true and complete novice.
It features a single recipe, which didn't really sink in on me until I looked for the non existent table of contents. I suppose it is logical it doesn't have one, after all, it's how to make ONE kind of truffles.
The directions are clear and there are photos for each step. Super simple, but then again, truffles aren't the most complicated of candies to make. For me, it was excessive--I didn't need directions that plodding, nor did I need a whole "book" for a single recipe.
Don't misunderstand me though. Just like a college grad isn't going to be impressed with a primer reading book, that doesn't mean there isn't a place for a book like this. We all had to learn sometime, and this does take a lot of the trial and error of cooking out with the clear instructions. This is ideal for the novice. I'm just not that novice anymore, and I found it somewhat tedious and uninteresting. I can think of some people that would find this book very interesting, if they were to decide to make truffles.
If you love chocolate as much as I do, then this is a must-have book!. A very clear explanation along with cool pictures!
To be fair, it did say "Recipe" on the cover, not "recipes". I guess it didn't sink in though, because I was expecting more than just one recipe. That said, the recipe provided was easy and straightforward, and the pictures were helpful. But given that it's a single recipe, you can easily find that around the web.
This just has one truffle recipe. It's great if you've never made truffles before, but not exciting if you have.

I thought this was a book, but it's basically one recipe with step by step pictures. If you have never made truffles, this could be helpful.
Maia Vethencourt has produced a single recipe guide on how to make Chocolate Truffles using her step-by-step guide. Vethencourt writes an introduction that includes a brief truffle history then moves along to tell about what you need to make the truffles. She then adds step-by-step photos showing how to make truffles. The recipe looks simple and easy.
If you are willing to pay for a step-by-step recipe you will get your money's worth.
