Deceived: One Man, Two Lives is the debut novel by Sydni Anderson. As the description says this book is not the typical “he done me wrong story”, and I don’t want to give away anything in the book, but it a great plot twist. I have said before that I have not read a lot of the urban genre, but what I loved about this book is that there wasn’t a lot of Ebonics used. The language seemed to flow naturally and was in-line with the characters described. I find it offensive when reading a book that is supposed to be about intelligent black people and they all sound like they never went to high school. Another thing that I found useful is the clear delineation of who is talking in the beginning of the chapters. I didn’t have to guess who was speaking. The author also does a great job of making likable characters and revealing bits and pieces that make them who they are. I hope that she expands on this in the next book. I do have to say that there are a few editing mistakes that I am sure that she can revise, but the story still progressed naturally and the mistakes didn’t drive me too crazy. Overall, I found this book very hot and the surprise ending makes me want to read more.Product details

Omg it was a unexpected ending awesome!

What in the world. So Stony is a player. Addison seems to be a good girl. Stony stringing both women alone. She got arrested. Call Darius and Stony came to the jail. Maybe two will be better
PLEASE proof your manuscript prior to publishing...JTTW. It makes it so difficult to read when you have to go back and re-read sections several times, putting in the word you THINK the author meant or re-read because they used the wrong character's name, or just re-reading trying to pause where commas and/or periods should be so you can comprehend what was written...otherwise, great storyline, great concept. Interesting characters and just an all-round great read.
I was completely shocked to learn that this is Author Sydni's first book, I just knew she was a seasoned author. This story was mind blowing, the dialogue, the characters were believable and relatable. What I loved the most, was her ability to change the point of views throughout the story and how everything just flowed perfectly.
I was hooked with the first chapter...talk about drama, lies and deceit. I'm going to recommend this book to all of my friends. I can't wait for her next to find out what happens to everyone. She has become one of my favorite authors.
