Normally I do not purchase a science fiction book that has “Mages” or “Magic” in the story. But when I purchased this book, I overlook that description. After the 1st 100 pages, I was ready to write this book off, but I kept on reading and found out to my surprise that I really enjoyed this story and will purchase the remainder books.This book has a great story line and I intend to keep this author on my read list.

Two thousand years ago, earth started to prepare for the coming of the Krai'kesh - and now they are here. But still the galactic empire is not ready for the powerful aliens with their apparent magic and the ability even to move moons. The Guardians, sometimes known as immortals since they have been around from the beginning, each have their own abilities. But they are few in number and the mysterious Krai'kesh are attacking on several front. Millions have died and more millions will follow. Will the alien secrets be unlocked before all of humanity is destroyed?
This unusual take on space battling against invaders combines some magic with technology in the exciting fight scenes which permeate the story. Some very human bantering conversations and a lightly touched upon tentative love affair also feature. An unusual back story makes this trilogy refreshingly different whilst maintaining the detailed thrills of space battles as well as invasion on land. My thanks to the author for gifting me a copy of his book. It was most enjoyable. Although second in the trilogy, it could be read as a standalone although knowledge of book one is recommended
Tiring. Continuous fighting.
Fast paced read. Love the characters and multi layered plot. The war is bring waged on several different fronts. Can not wait read what happens next
Lots of the story has twist and turns that I did not see coming but I did enjoy the read want to see more

It was a little wild and hard to follow all the plots and counter plots. It kept me interested through the entire book.
This was a very exciting and visual book. I could almost visualize the battles taking place. It would be nice to see it on the big screen someday.
I really enjoyed this one. There are some truly unique folks and now I need to find the earlier stories so I can have the full scope
